Indonesia Vs Singapore

Singapore will play againest Indonesia today. Indonesia will be in high spirts after they thrashed Laos 6-0. Singapore will be the same after they upset Vietnam by forcing them to a 1-1 draw. Raddy has said that he is not going to do much change to his squad.

Khairul Amiri has also been quite impressive when he came on for Ridhuan Muhammud. He may be the solution to Singapore's problem in the left wing. But he is still young and will need more experience and I think it is correct of Raddy to leave him out of the First Team for the time being.

Indra will again be hoping for more goals to assist the Lions to a win againest Indonesia. Indonesia is a tough team but their defence is quite shaky and Singapore will need to make use of their weakness to score goals. Singapore will also have to be aware of the 3 strikers that started when Indonesia Vs Laos as they can be quite deadly at times.

Vietnam 1-1 Singapore

Singapore forced a 1-1 draw againest Vietnam during their Tiger Cup 2004 opening game. Indra Sahdan Daud scored at the 70th Minute to cancel out Vietnam's 50th minute goal. Vietnam failed to clear Shahril Ishak's free-kick and the ball landed to Indra, who fired the ball past the goalkeeper to grab the much needed equaliser for Singapore. Singapore played with more confidence after that, but just failed to convert their chances which might eventually bring them to a win.

I watched the delayed telecast of the match yesterday at 11pm. The Lions was having a little difficulty string their passes together. Their defence was quite good as they managed to hold the Vietnam team to a 0-0 draw until half-time. Goalkeeper Lionel Lewis was also on form and he made an acrobatic save from one of the free-kicks of Vietnam. Indra got a yellow card when he kicked the ball to the back of the net when the linesman flag was up.

Singapore played better during the second half but they need to try harder to create more chances and to be more precise in their shooting and accuracy to score goals, whcih are needed if they want to win games. They may have won the game during the last 20 minutes or so if they grabbed their chances well.

Singapore's next match will be againest another tough team in the group, Indonesia. Indonesia won their first match againest Laos 6-0. The match will be played at the Thong Nhat Stadium. I am sure Singapore will do well in this match!

Tiger Cup Kick Off

Tiger Cup 2004 kicks off today. Singapore will take againest Vietnam at Thong Nhat Stadium. Vietnam will be out for revenge as they were beatened by Singapore at 1998 during the finals of Tiger Cup. Singapore won the cup at 1998 and did not even get into the Semi-Finals after that.
It will be a tough match for the Lions as Vietnam are bigger in size and they have good physical strength and skills. But Singapore have their own style and potential. We have a few promising youngsters. Overall, we have a young squad, the youngest player is Khairul Amri, who is only 18 years old. We have Indra, who is Singapore next best striker after Fandi Ahmad. He has the ability to score in big matches and we will see if he will score in this game. The pressure will be on Vietnam as they are the home team and the stadium will be fully filled with their fans. They will need to get a goal as fast as possible as if not, they might panic. But, I am sure Singapore will be able to hold on as they have a bunch of experienced and good players.
Singapore will get the needed result!
